Handling the estate with care
Clearing a family home is different from clearing a garage. There are drawers of letters, boxes of photographs, and things that mean nothing to anyone else but everything to you. Our team treats every room with that in mind.
Documents, photos and valuables set aside
Paperwork, bank letters, wills, photographs, jewellery and keepsakes that turn up while we work are put to one side for the family, not loaded into the van. If we find something and aren't sure, we ask.
Working from your list
Tell us what stays, what goes and what is going to a relative. A simple list, or photos with notes, is all we need. If items are being collected by family before the clearance, we'll book our date after that.
Keys from an agent or solicitor
If the family can't attend, we can collect keys from the estate agent or solicitor, clear the property to your instructions, return the keys and send you photos of the finished job.
Reuse and recycling first, disposal done legally
A lot of what is in a home still has a life left in it. We sort every load, set aside usable furniture and household goods for reuse where possible, separate metal, wood, cardboard and electricals for recycling, and only send what genuinely can't be recovered for disposal.
We're an Environment Agency registered waste carrier (CBDU607219), and where a job needs a Waste Transfer Note you get one. For an executor that matters: the estate is responsible for where its waste ends up, and a proper paper trail protects it.
Timing around probate, sales and tenancies
Probate rarely runs to a neat timetable. Sometimes a house sits for months, then a buyer appears and everything has to happen in a fortnight. Sometimes a council or housing association tenancy needs handing back by a set date.
Tell us the date you're working to and we'll plan backwards from it. We work 07:00 to 19:00, seven days a week, and same-day or next-day slots are often available. If you need it in stages, that's fine too.
