Why pallets become a problem so quickly
Every delivery leaves one behind. Within a month a corner of the unit is a wall of pallets, and by the time it is head height it is blocking a fire exit or a loading bay. Nobody plans for it, it just happens.
Getting rid of them is awkward. Pallet exchange schemes only want good ones in decent numbers, tips will not take trade waste, and a skip for timber is expensive and slow to swap. Meanwhile the stack keeps growing.
We clear it in one visit and can keep it clear on a schedule. Every job is priced individually because a dozen pallets behind a shop and a bay full at a distribution unit are very different. Send a photo on WhatsApp and you will get a fixed price back.
Regular collections that fit the way you work
Most trade customers end up on a routine. We agree a day, turn up, load the stack and leave the bay clear so nobody has to think about it. If a big delivery run means it builds faster one week, ring us and we will come in between.
We work around opening hours and access. Early before the shop opens, mid morning when the bay is free, or at the end of the day once the deliveries are done. Gated yards and shared service areas are normal for us.
There is no long contract to sign. Plenty of businesses in Manchester and Stockport just call us when the stack looks wrong, and that works fine too.
Your duty of care, covered properly
Business waste is not household waste. If pallets leave your yard, you are legally responsible for making sure they went with a registered carrier and ended up somewhere licensed. Handing them to a man with a flatbed for cash does not cover you.
We are registered with the Environment Agency as an upper tier waste carrier, licence CBDU607219, which you can check on the public register. A waste transfer note is available for every collection on request.
If you have an audit, an insurer or a head office asking questions, that paperwork is what answers them.
Where the timber ends up
Pallet timber is one of the better waste streams to deal with. Sound pallets get reused where they can be. The rest is chipped, and goes into panel board manufacturing or biomass fuel rather than landfill.
Wrap, banding and cardboard are separated at the depot end so the recyclable parts do not get dragged into general waste. It keeps costs sensible and keeps your load clean.
That means clearing your yard is not just tidier, it is the responsible route for the timber as well.
